Our mission is to help consumers make Credit and Credit Reporting a value enhancing experience, as opposed to an Identity Theft liability.
Our slogan, "Identity Theft Protection Is Your Right", stems from our belief that consumers have at least two basic rights: A- the right to be informed about credit, credit reports and Identity Theft B- the right to put in place the required services necessary to reduce the risk of becoming victims of Identity Theft.
We help consumers by providing information about credit, credit reporting and Identity Theft. We also help consumers by enabling them to employ specific services to reduce Identity Theft risk. The most important of such services are: 1- the ability to monitor their Credit Report activity through active Credit Monitoring services 2- the ability to initiate a Credit Lock or Credit Freeze (securing access to their Credit Report) 3- the ability to get a free copy of their Credit Report 4- the ability to stop telemarketing calls 5- the ability to be informed about Fraud Alerts and how to put them in place, and 6- the ability to have Identity Theft Insurance.
Consistent with our efforts to reduce Identity Theft risk, we do not collect sensitive consumer data ourselves such as social security number, etc... Some services offered through Creditlock.com are provided by showing consumers how to receive such services for free on their own (without obligation to provide us with personal data). Other services are provided through third parties whom we believe are committed to reducing Identity Theft risk. We provide a channel to link consumers directly to such third parties. Such third parties, in order to provide requested service, may request information from consumers. Any sensitive consumer information collected by such third parties is not shared with us.
We believe in Keeping It Simple. The information we offer on our website is meant to be brief, basic, educational and to the point. We avoid listing tons of information, articles, links and service alternatives which would merely overwhelm our readers.
We are not a credit counseling service center. We are not an Identity Theft resolution center. We do not offer information, services or products that guarantee consumers will not be victims of identity theft (no one can make such guarantee). We do not promise to improve credit scores, lower borrowing rates, improve credit reports, nor secure loans.
