Question
If I can get a free copy of my Credit Report, do I need Credit Monitoring?

Answer
Consumers are provided with a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies in accordance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act). Although this free report is a valuable service, since it is limited to once every 12 months, you may not be able to monitor your report on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Credit Monitoring service can provide 24 hour notification of critical changes. If somehow you can manage to get a free copy of your credit report regularly, and take the time to inspect it regularly, then you may not need Credit Monitoring. You should determine for yourself if Credit Monitoring is right for you or not.
