What are I-Crums™ ?

I-Crums™ are mini gift certificates (or points) which can be redeemed through email for products such as coffee card refills, cards for song purchases, etc... Such program is offered at www.Icrums.com . Any online merchant can participate in the program to offer I-Crums™ to their clients.
The advantages of such program are:
1- consumers receive points into a centralized system, from numerous merchants (as opposed to the typical merchant specific reward program)
2- minimal consumer information is requested by www.Icrums.com
3- merchants can give their customers I-Crums™ even on small purchases due to low cost of points to merchants, and very small minimum purchase requirement
The disadvantages of the program are:
1- It is a relatively new program, and hence has limited merchants participating in it. It is expected however that the concept will become popular quickly, as consumers demand their crumbs and pass the word around, asking their merchants to participate
2- The list of products offered for redemption is limited, because the program is new, and is limited by the program's focus on email product delivery capability. Again, that could change as the program matures
The word i-crums is derived from crumbs and it is assumed that consumers are frugal, money wise, and care about crumbs, which can add up to a lot.
